Introduction from Jessica Engel, Director of Operations
Classroom 2 is an adventurous place, with lots of little two year old bodies, little voices and a whole lot of energy. Ms. Meagan and Ms. Chelsea have a fun dynamic, working with the two year olds and creating an environment just right for them. They have spent many hours making materials, moving shelves, creating art projects and activities for the children. The children actively seek exciting Montessori materials, books and friends when they enter the room in the morning. Montessori work calms the children and they quietly engage while socializing with their developing language.
Ms. Meagan will be attending training this summer for Montessori Toddler Certification.

Curricular Highlight
In classroom 2 our Montessori work time is so important! Toddlers do not always understand a specific lesson, so it is important for them to be able to work freely and have the opportunity to learn from what they choose. We have many different varieties of work for the children to choose from. Work where the children can explore water, learn to use scissors, imaginary play work, learn to match, exploring colors, numbers, and shapes, and much more.
Student Excitement
Our class has been so excited about our Dancing Moose Community Garden! We take weekly visits out to the garden, where we get to explore that environment. We learn a lot about plant care, how to water and clean the plants and why that is so important to do. The children also get to simply play in the dirt in the garden. One of their favorite things to do is dig, so the garden is the perfect place to explore that.
Questions and Comments to Smile Aboutcoming soon
Classroom 2 has gone through many teacher transitions this year and the children have done so great adjusting! We have been teaching the children how to be happy and have fun in the environment even though changes have been made. We love smiles and laughs in our class, so we try to focus on that rather then the changes.
Creative Arts Project in an Integrated Curriculum
Our students love art. We have weekly art projects that we create in which the children become so excited about. Toddlers love to just explore, so a lot of times our art projects are not about the end result, but about the process. We explore with paint, markers, clay, crayons, glue, and much more. It is so fun to watch what the children create art, there is nothing quite like a toddler's art project.
